Exciting news about this weekend's Jamboree!!! The venue has changed - it will now be held at the Colt's training complex, 7001 West 56th Street, Indianapolis. How cool to be able to play in the same building as the Indianapolis Colts!! Some of the games will be inside (which is great since it is supposed to be cold), some will be outdoors. Please see the below schedule for game times and field assignments.
Parents: this means that we are now going to have to be more organized with transportation and parent volunteers. Please email Michelle at gapp97@aol.com if you are able to drive. Coaches would like the boys team to meet at McDonalds on 96th and I-69 at 6:00am, we should arrive to the Colts complex by 6:45am, first game is at 8:00am. Girls team will meet at McDonalds on 96th and I-69 at 9:00am, arrive to the Colts complex at 9:45am, first game at 11:30am. We will need parent drivers for both teams. Please email me if you are willing to drive and let me know how many players you can take. We will have water and Gatorade, but the players will need money for snacks and/or lunch. We are still going to try to hold the parent meeting - the time will be changed to 11:00am. The boys should be finishing up and the girls just starting.
Last, coaches will need to know if you cannot make the Jamboree. For those that are attending: please remember that you will have games indoors and out. Please come prepared for outdoor games (it will be around 35 degrees with the possibility of rain/snow).
Callout for the 7th/8th Grade Boys will be Thursday March 20, 2008 at HSE in the Media Center from 6pm - 8pm. Look for more information on scheduled practices and game schedules in the very near future.
The pre-season jamboree hosted by Carmel Rugby at the River Road rugby fields in Carmel on Saturday, 15 March. Each team will get 2 or 3 - 20 minute periods in a game like situation to help us as we all prepare for the start of the season. Please check Jamboree Schedule for times and participants.
State Champs
From: Derryl Pitts, Vice President
Date: June 2, 2008
Congratulations to the boy's Southeastern Rugby Club for winning the Division II State Championship! Comprised of athlete's from both Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern High Schools, these young men put together a season which will not soon be forgotten.
Starting with outdoor conditioning in January; the team entered the season with one goal.....to win the state championship. Their hard work and collective single minded focus paid off. The 12 and 2 team demonstrated great heart and determination in putting together not only a great season, but a play-off run out-scoring their opponents 82 to 0; in the process setting a new club record for fewest points allowed.
Thanks to the players, parents and supporters for making this a great season, and again, Congratulations to the boys Southeastern Rugby Club!
