The 2008 Division II Boys State Champion Southeastern Rugby Club is beginning its ninth full season this spring. We currently have three teams: High School Boys, High School Girls, and Junior High 7/8 School Boys with over 100 players in all, and guarantees that everyone plays.
Rugby is the fastest growing team sport in America. And while a full contact sport it is documented as safer than both football and ice hockey. Also Rugby is a life long sport with college teams, adult teams, and service teams; in fact a number of former Southeastern players our now on the teams at West Point, the Air Force Academy, Indiana University, Ball State and Purdue.
The Southeastern Rugby teams play other teams in the local area, but also travels annually to Nashville Tennessee and Elkhart Indiana to compete against teams from both the South and the Midwest. These are overnight trips and while the kids and their parents contribute, money for players of lesser means is made available.
Southeastern Rugby is a club sport which means it operates independently of school funding. As such, and wanting to keep the players contributions to a minimum, the team needs to develop revenue from other sources. We do this by soliciting contributions, donations and sponsorships.
Southeastern Rugby needs your support. Please take a moment to consider supporting the team.
Sincerely,
Dennis McCall, President
Southeastern Rugby Club
